What a great start for 2010, on 4^th January we received confirmation of our award for British Standard ISO 14001 for our environmental management standards.

 

We were up against some tough and rigorous standards, and meeting our objectives to reduce waste, energy usage and carbon emissions required the implementation of many new management objectives.  

 

But knowing our carbon footprint is hugely important for our business in today’s world, and we’re also able to boast that only 14% of our waste goes to landfill, a level that we’re hoping to reduce even further.

 

The 14001 processes have had a major impact upon our business, specifically looking at areas of improvement, and along with this has been the added benefit of seeing reduced costs.

Moving forwards AM Support Services is working towards the BSI ISO 18001 for Health and Safety. We’ll then be the only cleaning and FM business in Lancashire to have been awarded all three BSI accreditations!
